This year we launched our social value initiative called ‘Girls can Build’. A n interactive and immersive programme designed to inspire the next generation of young girls to consider a career in construction. With such great feedback from the pupils and teachers, we entered the programme into the Fairness, Inclusion & Respect Programme Awards and, we only went and won the Inspiring Change in Education Award.
The programme was delivered to six primary schools around OCL head office, with 13 sessions being offered and over 700 KS2 school girls participating in the programme.

The Inspiring Change Awards recognise and celebrate organisations and individuals within the construction and built environment sector that have created more inclusive cultures through activities to support workplaces, education of the current and future workforce, and the community.
