OCL Wins Societal Impact Award at the Family Business of the Year Awards 2025
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that OCL has won the Societal Impact Award at the Family Business of the Year Awards 2025, recognising the transformational work of our long running social value initiative, #GirlsCanBuild.
This was our first year entering the awards, making the achievement even more special. The ceremony, held during a fantastic evening at the iconic Royal Geographical Society in South Kensington, London, brought together outstanding family businesses from across the UK to celebrate their contribution to the economy and their communities.
A Celebration of Family Businesses Across the UK
Hosted by Family Business United, the awards have become a highlight on the national business calendar since their launch in 2012. This year’s event showcased the innovation, resilience and commitment of family-run firms, values that sit at the heart of everything we do at OCL.
As a family-owned contractor specialising in facades, recladding and drylining, we are immensely proud to be recognised among such remarkable organisations. Winning the Societal Impact Award is a powerful acknowledgement of the meaningful work our team delivers both on and off site.
Proud Recognition for #GirlsCanBuild
Our award-winning programme, #GirlsCanBuild, aims to inspire young women to explore rewarding careers in construction, challenging stereotypes, building confidence and opening pathways into the industry. The initiative continues to grow year on year, thanks to the passion and creativity of our team and our commitment to making construction more inclusive for future generations.
This recognition is a proud moment for everyone at OCL. It reinforces our belief that the construction sector can be a driving force for positive social change and that family-run firms can lead the way with heart, purpose and impact.
