Ten members of the OCL team pushed themselves to their limits during the Lennox Shine Bright Challenge, raising more than £11,000 for Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund.

Last week, a group of site and office staff came together to take on the Shine Bright Challenge, and what an experience it proved to be.

Challenging weather conditions, aching legs, swollen knees and a few tears along the way meant there were moments when simply putting one foot in front of the other became the biggest test of the day.

Tony Harris – CEO of OCL, said:
“Watching the team support one another through every stage of this challenge made me incredibly proud. Speaking from experience, it required teamwork, determination, support and camaraderie, the skills and values we pride ourselves at OCL.
“Completing such a demanding challenge was an achievement in itself, but to also surpass our £10,000 target and raise more than £11,000 for Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund makes it even more special. Thank you to everyone who took part, supported the team and to family, friends, clients and suppliers who donated so generously.”

However, the team demonstrated incredible determination and camaraderie throughout. When things became difficult, they encouraged one another. When someone ran out of energy, the rest of the group helped push them through. Whenever support was needed, the team was there—while a few sheep and goats provided some welcome entertainment along the route!

Every member of Team OCL successfully completed the demanding challenge. In doing so, they also smashed the company’s £10,000 fundraising target, raising an incredible £11,000+ for Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund.

The charity supports children and their families through childhood cancer, providing practical, financial and emotional assistance when they need it most. OCL is incredibly proud to support its vital work as our corporate charity partner.

A huge thank you goes to Lindsey, Fiona and everyone at Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund for organising such a memorable event, as well as Jim and the Adventurous Ewe team for guiding and supporting the participants throughout the challenge.

A special thank you must also go to Vinny for getting everyone there and back safely and for supporting the team from the sidelines throughout the day.

Finally, we would like to thank everyone who donated, shared our fundraising posts and cheered the team on. Knowing so many people were behind them helped keep the team going when the challenge became particularly tough.

An incredible achievement by an incredible team—well done, Team OCL!
