Blackhorse Mills is Legal & Generals flagship build to rent development that has regenerated the former Ferry Lane Industrial Estate on the edge of Walthamstow’s reservoirs into an environmentally sensitive scheme containing 479 residential apartments.

The development features 5 buildings which range in height from 8 to 16 storeys and are connected by an elevated terrace at podium levels with views across the water.

Blackhorse Mills includes a new community and commercial hub within which 20,000sqft of shops, offices and restaurants serve and support the growing community. The development includes a heated outdoor swimming pool, gym area, outdoor BBQ as well as private dining rooms, communal kitchen and workspace.

The development gained a coveted Secure by Design Gold Award and was recognised at the prestigious What House Awards 2020 where it was awarded Silver in the ‘Best Build To-Rent’ category.

OCL completed the SFS, rainscreen cladding to walls, soffits and oversailing balcony elements, composite windows, secondary steelwork, flashings and copings as well as the internal drylining, ceilings and tape & jointing on this development, with a subcontract package value of £21,000,000.00.
