Read Full Project Description

Newfoundland Tower is a 220 meter residential skyscraper, located at Canary Wharf between Westferry Road and Bank Street on the Isle of Dogs, London.

It is the first residential only building ever constructed on the Canary Wharf Estate.

The 59 storey tower contains 636 residential apartments, associated residential amenity areas, restaurants, retail, delivery and service facilities as well as two basement level plant rooms, a three storey annex building, internal and external play space, an indoor swimming pool and a roof terrace for the buildings residents.

The slim diamond shape of the tower was determined by the narrow footprint of the site and the diagonal alignments of the adjacent streets. The diagrid perimeter structure was designed to resist 90% of the buildings wind load allowing the height and weight of the building to be 30% more efficient than a more traditional laterally braced building.

The £250m development has won a numerous awards including: Best Tall Building 200-299M Development Of Outstanding Architechure Merit, Best High-Rise Development, Development Of The Year, Best Exterior Design, Best Build To Rent Project, Apartment Development Of The Year.

OCL completed the supply and installation of the internal drylining, ceilings and tape & jointing package on this development. With a subcontract package value in excess of £14,000,000.00.
