Through our extensive understanding of facades and specialist supply chain partners, we have widespread experience in the recladding of buildings.

Following the success of our façade division, we created a specialist team of experts whose sole focus is the recladding of non-compliant buildings. Through our in-house expertise we are able to manage the full recladding project lifecycle from inception to completion. Taking the role of either principle contractor or subcontractor our cladding remediation solutions focus on compliance, quality and cost control.

Cladding Investigation

OCL carry out thorough intrusive inspections of the existing façade, exposing sections of external wall so a more precise understanding of the construction detail, cladding material, fire cavity barriers and insulation can be ascertained.

OCL are able to arrange bespoke access solutions to complete investigation works in complex environments and work in partnership with key stakeholders to gain access to ensure there is limited disruption for occupants.

Our expert team will complete a desktop analysis reviewing operation and maintenance manuals, alongside relevant and pre-existing technical drawings, supplying a detailed report of our findings on completion.

Design & Specification

Design & Specification

Our experienced team of façade designers and engineers work with clients to design and specify cladding remediation projects in line with ever-changing legislation and regulations.

We’ll recommend a remedial solution to maintain aesthetics, providing the opportunity to increase building efficiency whist ensuring compliance.

Fire Testing

Fire Testing

Cladding fire testing is of paramount importance. OCL work in partnership with UKAS accredited testing facilities to carry out independent and impartial BS 8414 testing. This tests the fire safety performance of external cladding on buildings and is the vital evidence required to satisfy building authorities, the fire services and insurers of the fire performance of facades.

OCL has carried out and completed testing utilising accredited laboratories in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

Our fully qualified in-house façade installation teams will complete the removal of non-compliant cladding materials and replace these with quality, compliant, cost effective alternatives. As part of a turn-key solution this can include the provision of all necessary access, licenses, hoarding, security and management to complete the works from inception through to completion.

Across the business OCL have extensive experience in working in live environments, which is critical for completing recladding works in preoccupied buildings with minimal disruption. We have in-house resident liaison teams, who will keep owners and occupiers fully informed every step of the way.

OCL are one of only a handful of contractors to have successfully completed cladding remediation works funded by both the Building Safety Fund ‘BSF’ and Private Sector Cladding Remediation Fund ‘PSCRF’. OCL has a unique experience in the cladding market and are able to draw upon a specialised internal team and supply chain of likeminded technical experts to help us deliver complex cladding remediation schemes.

Quality control is at the heart of our operations. We implement a robust quality control process to evidence compliance utilising technology and stakeholder sign off at key project stages.

We routinely engage the services of independent and suitably qualified regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

These bodies are engaged during the design and specification stage for early input and pre-construction sign-off of proposed recladding materials.

They carry out routine visits for inspection and sign off at all key stages of construction and are contracted to provide an EWS1 certificate upon completion of the remediation works.
